Hey there! We’re Fawn & Sarah, the sisters behind Balanced by Plants. If you made it here, we’re excited you found us!
Like you, we’re women in menopause with a goal to understand our changing bodies. We both feel that if there is a way to thrive in menopause… to have some power over our health, energy, strength, mobility, and confidence… we want that for ourselves and other women.
Raised in the Midwest, we became very familiar with the life-threatening conditions that can result from the standard American diet. We’ve witnessed firsthand our family members contend with heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, stroke, and cancer. We’ve watched loved ones lose mobility, become wheelchair-bound, and reliant on others for care.
Of course, we don’t want that for ourselves or our children. We want to fight obesity, the standard American diet, and it’s associated diseases. We want to be healthy, vibrant, strong and mobile for as long as possible, and we want to help others seeking the same.
Our approach is based in holistic nutrition, movement that feels good, and fundamental daily habits that promote hormonal health and longevity.

Our Mission
We created Balanced by Plants to empower women in perimenopause and menopause to be strong, healthy, supported, and confident in their bodies, through practical guidance and nourishing plant-based recipes.
Our Approach to Information
We care deeply about the quality of the information we share. The wellness space is full of conflicting advice, bold claims, and trend-driven content, and we don’t believe that’s helpful, especially for women navigating perimenopause and menopause. That’s why we intentionally limit where our information comes from and return to the same trusted, evidence-based sources again and again.
Our plant-forward approach is supported by guidance from mainstream medical sources. We rely on academic and nonprofit medical institutions, menopause-focused professional organizations, and evidence-based nutrition education platforms.
We believe education is most powerful when it supports thoughtful decision-making. While we take the responsibility of sharing health information seriously, we still encourage you to work with your healthcare provider, ask questions, do your own research, and use what you learn in a way that feels right for your body and your life.
